Hi, my name is Kelly Bardon and I’m a doula.
I support women and their partners throughout their pregnancy, labour, birth and the post-partum period.
I originally did my training through Australian Doulas in 2016 and am a registered member of the national doula association Doula Network Australia Inc.
I also support student doulas as a Mentor with the Doula Training Academy in Perth, Western Australia.
I’ve been married to my husband David for 41 years and 40 years ago I gave birth to the first of my six children.
That’s when I fell in love with all things pregnancy, birth, women, babies and breastfeeding (I’ve bottle fed as well).
Fast forward to today and adding, 17 grandchildren to the family, nothing’s changed. I’m still just as mad about birth etc as I was back then.
My time as a qualified breastfeeding Counsellor with the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) allowed me more opportunities to support many women – hundreds in fact, in their post-partum period.
Skills I love sharing with this generation of mothers.
I believe that pregnancy and birth is a ‘life event’ and not the ‘life threatening’ event portrayed by society and the media, and my ultimate joy is looking into the eyes of a labouring woman and helping her see the strength that is within her – guiding her to believe in herself.
I will encourage you in your decision-making process by providing you with evidence-based research (should you want it) and help you develop the skills and confidence needed to birth your way – whichever way that is.
My purpose is to offer you continuity of care and support throughout your pregnancy and labour with the non-judgemental calm and wisdom of an older woman, who understands you and your partner’s needs.
Get in touch and let’s have a chat.
