Hi, my name is Delaney and I’m a birth and postpartum doula based in Harrington on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW!
In my past life, I was a high school teacher where I honed my skills in creating and holding compassionate, healing spaces while simultaneously educating in impactful and personalised ways. I’m anticipating a re-ignited passion for nurturing and supporting others through my transition from the classroom to the birth space and beyond.
I believe that one of the main things missing in the birth world today is compassionate continuity of care that prioritises the wellbeing of the mother throughout the most profound initiation of her life: motherhood.
Motherhood was never meant to be experienced alone; that’s why my focus is supporting and educating mothers how to prepare for the birth and postpartum experiences of their dreams, so they can step forward with courage and unshakeable self-trust. I advocate for their 4th trimester to be prioritised as one of deep rest, nourishment, and presence. It is because of this that my philosophy has evolved from wanting to teach and learn all the things to guiding women to turn inward and attune themselves to their own instinctual knowledge so they can embrace themselves as their own best authority. This shift allows mothers to draw from a mindset of “I am enough” rather than “I am not enough,” a feeling that is all too common in motherhood. By breaking patterns of consistently outsourcing their own authority, mothers can reclaim their connections to their body’s innate wisdom and intelligence.
As your doula, my mission is to provide you with unwavering support, evidence-based education, and a nurturing presence throughout your journey. From preparing you for labour and birth to offering gentle guidance and comfort in the postpartum period, I am here to walk this path with you.
