Hello my name is Claire,
I believe that birth is amazing, transforming and unique to each woman. We have been led to believe that birth is to be feared, dangerous, scary and so painful. I think it is time that we re-frame our understanding of Birth.
My own birth experiences have caused me to see birth so individually, I have learnt to respect, listen, and support each woman without judgement.
As your doula, it is my intention to lovingly support you to feel safe, supported and confident in your ability to make decisions and to birth your baby the best way possible for you.
I also believe that women are too easily made to feel anxious, fearful and without a voice when it comes to birth and birth choices.
This motivated me to become a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, providing Childbirth Education to expecting couples. Education lays a solid foundation for informed decisions, and in Pregnancy, Labor, Birth and Parenting there will be many decisions that you will need to make.
Birth can take shape in many different forms, how you are treated and how you are made to feel can impact you as a mother, how you feel about yourself, your baby. and your experience in the early months with a newborn.
Being well prepared to meet your baby and supported during the first 3 – 4 months with a newborn, is what is I am passionate about.
